A series of performances on themes related to mental health held in conjunction with a group art exhibit and cosponsored by the U-M Arts Initiative, the U-M Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and the U-M Eisenberg Family Depression Center. At the opening of the exhibition on Main St, the local experimental & improvisational Creative Arts Orchestra presents an interactive performance facilitated by its “NeuroArts/Future States Brain Visualizer” app, a device that enables the audience to use its phones to select from various color and emotion options to visualize its responses to the music. Their collective choices are projected on a big screen to which the orchestra can respond as it plays. Followed at 8 p.m. by a discussion about the experience and about brain function with a panel of neuroscientists, artists, and organizers of the event.
